IS
MAGAZINE AND BOOK
PUBLISHING VIABLE?
CAN YOU
PUBLISH
BOOKS AND MAGAZINES FROM HOME?
I
am sure that some of you will have lingering doubts about the prospects for
publishing your own books and magazines and that's why I decided to
compile this website to show you that it is
indeed possible.
It
is quite possible to make publishing books and magazines your main
source of income. Concentrating on your local community gives you an
added advantage over most other publishers - it is your own personal
niche area. Despite the fact that I continued to publish magazines
solely in my spare time, for the best part of three years, I now work as
a self-employed publisher, using the very same techniques that I
recommend to you on this website.
There
is an enormous amount of material at your disposal within your home
community, all ready and waiting for you to publish in either book or
magazine format, and within your home community there is a ready market
for such publications.
You
can do as I did, and take it easy for a while, continuing with your
full-time employment while developing and marketing your publications
throughout your local community.
It
is obvious from the sparse amount of information readily available on
the Internet, that local community magazine and book publishing is a new
area of opportunity and like any other opportunity, it is always best to
be in at the start.
I
was lucky that I made the decision three years ago and I have now
developed my publishing business so that I can continue it as a
full-time occupation. You wouldn't believe how satisfying that
feels.
It
is often those momentous, life-changing decisions, that make all the
difference and whilst it is often a very difficult decision to make,
especially if you have family commitments, the rewards for success are
remarkable.
I
was fortunate in that I had no commitments. There were very few people
who had faith in my ambitions and at times I felt very alone. I
never gave up my belief in the prospects for a successful community
magazine and those people who didn't share those beliefs with me are the
ones that ultimately lost out. Those that stood by me are the ones who
now share in my success.
You
have to have faith in your abilities and your beliefs. I offer you
the opportunity to replicate what I have achieved in my little corner of
the world so that you can experience it too in yours.
Michael
Norfolk.
